A Brilliant Rainforest Partnership + Freewater For All + An Open Source Virtual Reality Collab + Our Newest Jury Members; Leeah Dollar - Olmos & Mye Hoang

Protecting rainforests from the ground up - the mantra of the Rainforest Partnership - Which means they are about animals too!

To build a collaborative relationship with the Rainforest Partnership, a global NGO that helps conserve and restore tropical rainforests by working directly with local communities in their areas of focus to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower, benefit, and respect both people and nature, made sense to the AniFab team.

​So, we reached out.  And a relationship was born.  Look for a host of announcements stemming from this cooperative initiative in the coming weeks.  We'll start down below with the introduction of Leeah Dollar-Olmos, a 2021 #AniFab Juror.

Freewater.io has joined the growing list of Partners!

Josh Cliffords and his team at Freewater.io have created a beautiful model to be able to share free water with humanity.  The Animalis Fabula Film Festival had an opportunity to sit down with Josh and get a much better idea of his Austin start up's goals.  And, they align very well with the World Animal Awareness Society's goals overall.  And a partnership was created

The AniFab team crafted a very dynamic partnership with Carl Fravel, Grand PooBah and owner of the entire Convention Center Complex including the Star Cinema and more in virtual world, Decentraland.

Look for announcements in the coming weeks from the AniFab / Decentraland Collaborative Process, including an ongoing screening series and live events featuring the films and filmmakers of the Animalis Fabula Film Festival and Dell Children's Medical Center.

Leeah Dollar-Olmos is the Global Engagement Coordinator for the Rainforest Partnership

Leeah’s background has centered on exploring the connections between human behavior, marketing, and sustainability. Inspired by sustainability practices while studying abroad in Europe, Leeah has made it her mission to apply her skills in business management and market research to land conservation.

In addition to building relationships with corporate sponsors, Leeah coordinates global initiatives such as Films for the Forest and Flavors of the Forest for Rainforest Partnership. She also assists with coordinating programs for World Rainforest Day.

Leeah holds a BSc in Psychology from Georgia State University and a Masters in International Management from Audencia Business School. 

The Animalis Fabula film Festival team is very excited about working with our newest jurors and the perspective they bring to the jury process.

The AniFab team are also looking forward to working Leeah on her initiative Films For the Forest, or F3

Global Engagement Coordinator, Leeah Dollar-Olmos

​Mye Hoang is a Los Angeles based producer and director. 

Mye, a producer on the award-winning noir thriller MAN FROM RENO (Best Feature at the LA Film Festival and Spirit Award Nominee 2015) as well as the narrative feature I WILL MAKE YOU MINE by Lynn Chen (SXSW 2020).

Mye has directed several narrative short films that have screened at film festivals around the world. Her first narrative feature VIETTE, a Vietnamese American coming-of-age story, debuted in 2012 and screened at dozens of film festivals, including the Asian American International Film Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Fest.

Mye is the founder and former Executive Director of the Asian Film Festival of Dallas, and former Artistic Director of the San Diego Asian Film Festival.  She has a BA in Cinema from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX where she was born and raised.  Get to know Mye below:
