Waffle - Narrative Short - USA

After a difficult breakup with his first love, Jay was left with one special gift- his dog, Waffle. Struggling to take care of Waffle and deal with family issues, Jay must choose if he can take care of his new dog or if he should take him back to the shelter.

Victor Vargas graduated at Arizona State University in 2016 in Film and Media Productions. During his time at ASU, he received a Jury Award at the annual Campus Movie Festival for his short film, Scripted, where it was then screened at Cannes Film Festival along with other Jury Award Winners.

Animalis Fabula Film Festival judges aggregate score for Waffle was 7.6 out of 10 with one judge noting, "​This is a lovely story with some good messages; give rescue dogs time to acclimate, and given the chance they can become a beloved part of your family and life!"
