G.R.A.S.S. documents the devastating flooding at a Golden Retriever Acres Senior Sanctuary (G.R.A.S.S.) in Spring. TX. The sanctuary serves primarily as a refuge for senior and special needs Goldens by providing a clean, safe and loving place for the abandoned dogs to live out their golden years.

​Wojciech Lorenc is an Associate Professor of Mass Communication at Sam Houston State University. He has worked in the television industry as a producer, director, cinematographer, and editor. He has won awards internationally and screened his films in over 100 festivals in 15 countries.

Director StatementIn the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, most of the media attention was focused on human victims. I thought that it was important to shine a spotlight on the dramatic situation of some of the most defenseless among us. The founders of GRASS and its volunteers have a true love for the older dogs especially Goldens and are dedicated to their welfare. It is clear that their efforts can make a difference in the life of senior dogs. I found their efforts during that dramatic time to be truly inspiring.
