We really enjoyed meeting the festival team and other filmmakers. We had a great time and were thrilled to have a packed house of animal lovers for our screening! Robin Rene Conly, #AniFab24 Director, Dolphin Summer
Our animated short, "The Shadow of Snow," screened at #AniFab24. The venue was amazing with excellent sound and picture. The festival featured films from all over the world (Norway, Tunisia, the UAE, just to name a few!) and every filmmaker had a chance in the spotlight to talk about their creative process and experience. All the films involved animals in some way, but you'd be surprised at the variety of themes, genres, and subjects involved!
Most importantly, Tom made *all* of us feel important and welcome, and I know that's not something every fest can do. It's clear that the anifab team cares deeply about the movies that come through and the filmmakers involved. Communication was great from the start, and despite limits on budget, anifab did its best to provide a memorable experience (two free dinners, an AMC auditorium, printed certificates for every finalist, specialized glass art trophies for the winners, packed feature premieres, and a professional jury). A Finely Curated Festival Of The Best Hand Selected Filmed Stories About Or Including Animals By Filmmakers From Around The World. #AniFab25 is Produced by the World Animal Awareness Society & WA2S Films, an award-winning Texas based 501c3 nonprofit charity. AniFab 25 will project more than 30 "animal stories" at the AMC RiverCenter and Marriott Hotel RiverCenter attached to the RiverCenter Mall Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 28, 29 & 30, 2025.

"My debut short, “DOGMA”, screened at #AniFab24 in San Antonio. I am always proud to show off the film I worked so hard on at any venue, but my experience at AniFab24 was like no other.
Every single film festival out there seems to only focus on everybody’s admiration of film and that’s about it… except Animalis Fabula.
What sets AniFab apart is that every attendee that has trekked from the far reaches of the world has done so in order to come together to celebrate their love of animals. However, the difference isn’t just that AniFab is a festival about animals, but a festival about love and connection in general.
Tom McPhee’s poetic closing thoughts on the final night were revelatory. His relentless pursuit to guide people “towards a future where compassion, empathy, and understanding prevail” left the audience speechless. After being floored by the finale screening of “The Animal Thing”, it is baffling that AniFab isn’t an event attended by tens of thousands. "Animalis Fabula translates to "animal story" in Latin. If you have a film involving animals, this is a MUST fest to submit. Tom and his team are wonderful and passionate about what they do. They go out of their way to make filmmakers feel special. My film screened in person in a pandemic year which is challenging. But what a fun and powerful experience I had, being with like-minded compassionate people. I love details like my trailer playing in the theater lobby, festival signage and schedules in the hosting hotel, a dog in costume in the lobby and a guy in a bear suit. I would like to see this fest grow and get the attention it deserves. Again, a must if you have an animal film. And if you like a film festival that feels like camp, this is it! I made great new friends here."
